In Playa Venao, a coastal community on the Pacific side of Panama, is an eco-property, surf hotel, campsite and hostel that has been operating for 13 years. They have reforested over 30 hectares of land that was primarily used for cattle pastureland, and planted 25,000 trees. I photographed a story of the guest experience, the reforestation and permaculture initiatives for marketing and brand assets. I documented how they work with the land for it to thrive, for the farm to provide enough food for the restaurant, and how to store water from rainy season and move it throughout the property to meet the demands of tourism.
